What is the “Guardian Program” 

Guardian families are mutually beneficial to our Mission Statement at DDF as well as to the guardian family themselves.  Simply put, we firmly believe all dogs should have the life intended for all pets, and that includes our working Moms and Dads. When a baby could benefit from more one-on one time with a family than we can provide in our own home; they are placed with a guardian family. 

Instead of seeking out a retired mama at the end of her career, you are having your puppy placed in your home from the beginning. They’re yours to raise and train and they are also part of our program. 

The breeder is responsible for all things reproduction, and you are responsible for the rest. This is a contractual obligation; and there are some logistical obligations as well.
